Maciej Łodziński

Short description: I am a Polish lawyer with a background in law and digital economy. I hold a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Wrocław and an LL.M. in Law in Digital Economy from Católica Global School of Law in Lisbon. My main areas of expertise and interest include data protection and privacy, AI, technology regulation, legal tech and EU law.
During my studies and professional experience, I have worked with civil and commercial law; however, compliance topics such as the GDPR, AML, AI Act, Digital Services Act, Digital Markets Act and NIS2 have been at the centre of my work. I prefer working with businesses and advising on regulatory compliance, while gradually moving towards an in-house role. I am also currently training to become a Polish attorney-at-law.
One thing about me is that I love planning and designing processes. From work-related automations to personal spreadsheets and time-planning, I am in my element when I get to do just that 🙂
As a trainer, I am interested in delivering practical, interactive sessions that combine legal knowledge, ELSA experience and soft skills with discussion, case studies and exercises.
ELSA experience: I have been involved in ELSA for six years, from 2019 to 2025, when I “retired” from active involvement and became an ELSA Alumni.
ELSA Wrocław (2019 – 2022)
I joined ELSA Wrocław in Poland in October 2019. During the following two years, I served first as Vice President in charge of Academic Activities and later as President of the Local Group.
ELSA International Team (2021 – 2023)
I joined the ELSA International Team for the term 2021/2022 as Director for the John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition (JHJMCC), and continued as Assistant for the Regional Rounds of the JHJMCC during the term 2022/2023.
International Board of ELSA (2023/2024)
During the LXXXIII International Council Meeting in Malta, I was elected Vice President in charge of Competitions of the International Board of ELSA and subsequently served in this position during the term 2023/2024.
Over the years, I attended more than 50 National and international ELSA events across Europe and around the world, organised numerous events and delivered many, many trainings. As cliché as it may sound, I really owe ELSA a lot – from my personal and professional development, through learning legal project and team management, to, most importantly, meeting some truly amazing people, some of whom I am lucky to call dear friends to this day.
